Watford – QPR and beyond: forecast for Championship matches on August 5, 2023

Another season in the Championship started the day before. Match “Sheffield Wednesday” – “Southampton” fully lived up to expectations in terms of rates. I would like to build on the success and today I liked a few more choices for the second division of England.

Such emotions and expectations often overcome us before some kind of “big” matches or the start of tournaments. And the upcoming meeting is about emotions. Therefore, it cannot, even has no right, to turn out to be boring and uninteresting.

Sheffield Wednesday have risen from League One, England’s third-best division. The Owls won the playoffs and remember how dramatic. In the semi-finals, they got to Peterborough and lost the first match on the road 0:4. It seemed that the finalist was decided, but Sheffield Wednesday made an unrealistic comeback – they also won 4-0 at home, scoring the decisive goal in the 98th minute!

In extra time, the “owls” conceded first, but bounced back and turned the confrontation into a penalty shootout. There, Sheffield Wednesday won 5-4 and reached the final, where they beat Barnsley.

“Southampton” tritely flew out of the Premier League, but the team has no less emotions from this. Both teams set themselves the goal of fighting for a promotion in the class, and in the starting round they will definitely strive only for victory. “Sheffield Wednesday” will overwhelm emotions and drive the stands forward, and “Southampton” have something to prove to themselves and the fans.

Watford – QPR. The Hornets did not make it to the playoffs last season, and the Hoops fell apart altogether and, after an impressive start, slid down the standings. During the off-season, both clubs had noticeable lineup changes. It is still difficult to assess the prospects of rivals for the new season, but they themselves are set to fight for the playoffs. This means that from the first round the opponents must play with the right attitude and strive for victory. This motivation should provoke teams to attack, which means football will be dynamic and rich in dangerous moments. It remains only that the implementation does not fail.

  • Prediction for the match: TV (2.5) for 1.95.

Plymouth – Huddersfield Town. The hosts have just risen from League One. Their main goal is to gain a foothold in the league. Plymouth are accustomed to playing attacking and are unlikely to give up their style – especially in the opening matches, when a newcomer will play on emotions. This attitude will definitely create pressure on the opponent’s defense, but at the same time, it will expose our own rear as well. Huddersfield are managed by the experienced Neil Warnock, who is well versed in football and tactics. His “terriers” may concede, but together they are able to score on counterattacks – even more than one goal.
